A design of a large terraced garden in Penrith, the client wanted the existing wooden retention walls to be removed as they are rotting away and becoming a safety hazard. The top patio will allow for outdoor dining in close proximity to the house, with herb and vegetable beds at either side. The retention wall will protrude above the ground level, to reduce the impact of the wind, with low level shrub planting behind.

Proposed curved steps from the top patio down to the middle level which would include low shrub planting and a wildlife pond nestled within the bed. Another access point in the form of a sloped grass pathway lead the user through a meadow and a stand of apple trees down to the middle level. Dense shrub planting will be used to deal with the sloped nature of the proposed retention beds with focal trees to add a sense of scale.
